Make a
difference – change someone’s life.
Samaritans listen in confidence to
anyone in any type of emotional distress, without prejudice and without
making judgements. They do not offer advice, but encouraging people to
talk about their feelings often helps them to explore all the options
they have. Samaritans believe that given the time to work through
problems or difficulties in confidence, people can often find an inner
strength and perspective which allows them find their own way forward.
Being a good listener is about caring enough to take time out, and being
there for another person.
Listening volunteers support the
majority of our service, but there are other volunteering opportunities
with Samaritans in Spain. Volunteers also provide publicity and fundraising for the
branches and ensure that administrative and maintenance tasks are
carried out to further support the work. So if you would like to find
out more about becoming a listening or non-listening volunteer please fill out the contact form below or send an email to: joinus@costablancasamaritans.com
